We borrowed my In-laws camper at the beginning of the summer. We had wonderfully grand plans to go camping at least 5 times by now. I can tell you that didn’t happen. We did go once, but life happened and camping didn’t.
Well I made the decision we were going camping this weekend. So here we are. We packed the food, clothes, toys, games, and movies (in case of rain). Then loaded the boys and dog in the truck and hit the road. Thankfully puppy’s flea and tick is up to date so we were good to go.
Friday we got a later start and planned on meeting my parents for pizza at this great little pizza place a friend of mine told me about. But afterwards headed back out to the campsite for s’mores.
Saturday we had pancakes, grilled cheese / pizza pie things (I know there is a name for it but for the life of me I can’t think of what it is), then dinner was squash&zucchini, corn on the cob, burgers, and of course more s’mores.
We planned on bacon and eggs for breakfast but the state park we are staying at had donuts and muffins available so we choose to go there and enjoy those. Since we have to be out by 12, and just plain ease of less clean up in the morning.
Is there really anything better than:
The views …
Camp fires …
Food over the fire …
Bike rides …
I really do love spending this time with my loves, making great memories. I am thankful my hubby will camp in my comfort zone … aka with a bathroom, sink, bed (read camper not tent) camping.
A couple of notes:
When getting ready to go camping make sure to double check everything from how many charcoal nuggets you have, to chairs, batteries, and bug repellant. These are the things we didn’t double check and now had to deal without. Oh well. Lesson learned.
All in all it was a great weekend. I hope you had as nice of a weekend as we did.
