Yummy dessert …

So some of our great friends came over for dinner and a movie last night. They brought the drinks and dessert! Which if you had ever had her desserts, you would always request dessert when she asks what should I bring!

Well she surprised us with these yummy bars she had seen on Facebook. We have all seen it I’m sure, thinking I want to try that … but then don’t ever try it. She looked at the recipe and made a few changes from the version online. Lucky for me – oh and my family too since I had to be a good person and share – ha!

She lessened the amount of caramel. Changed it to milk from cream. Added more peanuts. As well as went from milk chocolate to semi-sweet. I believe the original version would have been to sweet for me … what did I just say?!? I have a sweet tooth to beat any sweet tooth and these were perfect!!!

Thanks sweet friends for coming to hang out at our house (with kids) when you had a kid free weekend. (They must really love us! 😉 )

Snickers Rice Crispies

  • Servings: 36 squares
  • Difficulty: easy

1 Package Mini Marshmallows
1/4 Cup Butter
1/2 TSP vanilla
5 1/2 Cups Rice Crispies
11 oz Caramel Squares
2 TBSP Milk
1 1/2 Cups Salted Peanuts
1 Cup Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

Line 9×13 pan with parchment paper.

Melt marshmallows and better.
Add Vanilla and cereal.
Spread into line 9×13 pan.

Press nuts onto surface of the cereal mixture.

Melt caramel and milk. Once melted pour over the top of the peanuts and spread as much as possible.

Melt the chocolate chips then transfer to a baggie and snip off a small corner to drizzle over the top.

Refrigerate for 2 hours. Once hardened cut into pieces.
