Lasagna

You guys this is not a dish I make very often. It makes a full pan and my family of four only eats less than half. So, then it gets frozen and I forget about it, OR I am eating it day after day for breakfast and Lunch and possible leftover dinner too.

Now I love pasta and homemade lasagna is always welcome. Because it is always so good. Now this is a meal that takes a process. There are steps but none of them are hard.

The boys will actually eat it. Which is surprising because most of the time when it comes to pasta all they want is buttered noodles. Now I have learned that when I am in the mood for lasagna, I invite the parents or in-laws over, so I don’t have so many leftovers.

So, start by cooking ground beef, minced onion, and garlic. Drain grease. Add a jar of your favorite spaghetti sauce. And allow to simmer to combine flavors.

Cook lasagna noodles in salted water until just under al dente. Rinse with cool water and lay out flat.

Mix together the creamy filling. A tub of ricotta cheese, half of the tub of cottage cheese, and Italian seasonings.

Now its time to layer all the ingredients. Put ¼ cup of water in the spaghetti sauce jar and shake. Then pour it into the lasagna dish. Then layer lasagna noodles, sauce, shredded mozzarella, noodles, and creamy filling. Repeat until all the ingredients are gone.

Bake for 20-30 minutes until hot and bubbly. Allow to cool for 5 minutes before cutting. Then ENJOY!!
