Honey Garlic Pork Chops

I don’t really remember having pork chops often growing up. We had grilled pork loins, but not a lot of pork chops. But hubby grew up on baked pork chops. I made a few recipes but only half of the family liked them. I was not a huge fan of the baked with the condensed soup recipes.

We have a subscription to butcher box and somehow got pork chops in one box. I thankfully put hubby on a recipe hunt. He came up with honey garlic recipes. So, I looked up some more recipes and made a few adjustments to make them a family favorite.

Heat a skillet with 2 TBSP Olive Oil – or if you are like me use 1 TBSP bacon grease and 1 TBSP olive oil. Season pork chops on both sides with salt and pepper to taste. Cook 4-5 minutes on each side, each side should be golden and cooked through. Transfer to a plate, cover with foil, and set aside.

Reduce heat to medium and in the same pan melt better and scrape up the brown bits form the bottom of the pan. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook until sauce reduces down and thickens slightly (about 3-4 minutes), while stirring occasionally. Add the chops back into the pan, baste generously cook 3-4 minutes to combine flavors. Serve with veggies. Also great with rice, pasta, or a salad.
