Taco Seasoning

Taco seasoning is something we go through. I have multiple recipes that call for taco seasoning. I stopped buying the store bought stuff awhile ago because it causes hubby issues and I get headaches. This is the taco seasoning I use for my taco meat.

I make up this recipe and store it in a jar in my pantry. I just shake it all up right inside the jar to make it even easier on myself and less to wash. I have used both pink salt and regular table salt for this, it doesn’t really change the taste at all.

4 TBSP Chili Powder
4 TBSP Cumin
10 tsp Salt
4 tsp Paprika
4 tsp Pepper
2 tsp Garlic Powder
2 tsp Onion Powder
2 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Red Pepper Flakes

Now I use about 2 TBSP per pound of ground meat. I have used this with beef, venison, and chicken. However, with chicken I use a little less. I would start out with 1 ½ TBSP and go by taste from there. You can use as much or as little as you like and works for you.

I actually printed these and stuck them to the lid of the jar so I don’t have to look it up when I need to remake taco seasoning.  Its super simple and easy and perfect to have on hand. You can easily cut the recipe in half if you would prefer. You could also put it into a empty seasoning jar so it has a sprinkle top to it if you prefer.
