Monkey Bread

With the holiday season approaching, just kidding in my mind we are in it. I am always looking for quick easy family pleasers to cook. For breakfast and dinner. Lunch is usually a fend for yourself kind of deal around here.

One breakfast dish we LOVE is Monkey bread. It is typically made in a bundt pan. But then all the pieces don’t get the yummy caramel topping stuff, so I had to change that. Plus, I think there needed to be a little more cinnamon sugar and topping to the amount of biscuits. You know more of the gooey flavor stuff to enjoy. Plus, a lot of monkey bread recipes call of three tubes of biscuits, but my family cant eat all of that in one day. Yes, I did say one day because anything that is left over sits on the counter and is snacked on throughout the day… Healthy I know but we think waste not want not.

Anyhow you start by preheating your oven and grease a 9×13 pan.

Mix together sugar and cinnamon mixture. Open 2 tubes of biscuits and cut each biscuit into sixths. Roll or toss biscuit chunks in cinnamon sugar mixture and then toss into greased pan. Pour any remaining cinnamon sugar mixture over biscuits. Melt butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and allow to boil for 2 minutes. Evenly poor over biscuits.

Put pan in preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool for 10 minutes in pan before turning out onto a serving dish. Now place the serving dish in the middle of your table so everyone can reach and enjoy!!!
