This is a crowd pleaser in our family. The best part is that 1 pound of ground meat to 1 pound of egg noodles goes a LONG LONG way. It feeds a crowd.

My youngest kept asking me if he liked it before it was made. He can’t remember what each dish is but I just tell him he likes it, over and over and over until its finally ready to eat and he is like OHHHH YEAH, I LOVE THIS STUFF!!!

Well this time while he was eating, he asked me if I could make this more often. I love how easy this dish is and how much of a crowd pleaser it is. Plus, it is a healthier version of the box stuff that I used to make when I was college aged.

NOW this dish is typically made with mushrooms. YUCK!! Thankfully (since I am the one who does the cooking) no one in my family likes mushrooms. So, I took out the 8oz of mushrooms and the cream of mushroom soup which I switched to cream of chicken.

You start by cooking egg noodles per the package instructions. While also starting the sauce by cooking an onion in butter then after it starts to get tender you add the pound of meat. This time I used ground venison, but you can substitute ground beef easily. Once the meat is cooked through you drain off the grease and add the rest of the ingredients up to the sour cream. Simmer and bring all the flavors together.

Mix in the sour cream to the sauce mixture. For the noodles, drain and return to the pot and mix in 2 tablespoons of butter. Mix sauce mixture into the noodles, stir to combine, and enjoy!

That simple and yummy!

4 TBSP Butter, divided
1 Pound Egg Noodles
½ Onion
1 Pound Ground Beef or Venison
1 TBSP Minced Garlic
1 scant tsp Paprika
½ Cup Water
1 Can Cream of Chicken Soup
1 Cup Sour Cream

Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add salt then add the egg noodles. Cook according to the package.

Meanwhile in a large skillet melt 2 Tablespoons of butter and add the onion. Cook until onion is starting to get tender. Then add the ground meat. Cook through.

Once the meat is cooked add 1 Tablespoon Minced Garlic. Cook for about 1-2 minutes before adding the rest of the ingredients up to the sour cream and simmer for 10 minutes. Then add the sour cream and stir to combine.

Once the noodles are cooked drain and return to pot. Stir in the remaining butter. Once the butter is melted add the sauce mixture. Stir to combine.

Serve and ENJOY!!!
