I started this blog and erased it many times. I rewrote it more times than I care to share. I have something on my mind and heart, but I try to keep this blog light. However, I can’t seem to get past this feeling. I feel I need to address this topic that was brought to my attention.
There are some people who don’t like to read these long stories. Which I understand if they are seeing these blogs on Pinterest and they just want the recipe. However even if they find it on Pinterest I’m confused as why these stories make people so upset. Numerous people have said “THANK goodness for the skip button”.
I am unfortunately not tech savvy enough to know how to add one of those “skip to recipe” buttons. But beyond that I write these blog posts as a way to express myself but also to entertain anyone who want to read it. I love to think that maybe just maybe I am able to put a smile on at least one person’s face. I hope for even just a fleeting moment I can make someone’s day just a little better.
If you are still reading, I am going to guess that you enjoy reading these blogs. If you enjoy reading them and you are taking the time to read mine, Thank you! If you are skimming just to get to the recipe, thank you for looking at my recipe.
So on to the recipe … and story if you will. This recipe is easy and yummy. It is a family favorite. These boys eat this shredded chicken on buns, over a baked potato, cheese pinwheels, tortilla chips, cheez-its … you name it they love it. I know I shared another shredded meat and saucy recipe a few weeks ago but we really love both of them and had them recently so I hope you dont mind. At least it is different kinds of meat, but I would guess both recipes would taste great with the other kids of meat as well.
This is one of those amazing crockpot meals that makes you look like a hero when it was a simple meal. It takes 2-3 pound of chicken breasts. These pictures are with 1.5 pounds of chicken. SO …. Yours won’t end up this saucy unless you use less chicken like in these pictures.
Super simple with just a few ingredients: chicken, BBQ sauce, Italian dressing, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper. Put the chicken in the crockpot, as you can see my chicken is frozen. (DISCLAIMER – Please remember that crockpot does not recommend you cook frozen meat. I however do it all the time so do what makes you comfortable.)
Anyway, back to the recipe, so mix together everything (well other than the chicken) and then, pour over the chicken in the crockpot. Cook on low all day. Shred. Serve and Enjoy! Super simple. Super delicious.
