Steak Soup, for lack of a better name!

I made this dish, and while I titled it steak soup, I don’t know that it is really a soup it may be a stew or I don’t know what, so I don’t know what else to call it.

Normally when I make a recipe, I want it to make extra, so I have lunches during the week. My family also does leftovers as meals on Saturday to save me a day of cooking. However, I do not recommend making this and planning on leftovers. Since the noodles cook in the liquid, they will continue to soak the liquid in while it sits in the fridge.

This comes together quickly and was a wonderful warm meal while it was cold and snowy outside. Now my boys who do not like soup all that much really liked it as well. I mean it is steak and noodles…how can you go wrong with steak and noodles.

Now I am the self-proclaimed queen of forgetting to defrost meat, so as you can guess my steak was still frozen when I cut it into pieces. So, with frozen or fresh steak cut into one-inch pieces or bite size pieces if you will. I have a child, so my pieces tend to be cut smaller than larger, but do as you wish. Then in a zip top bag combine flour, salt, and pepper then add in the steak chunks and toss to coat.  Once it is coated use a slotted spoon to get the steak cubes out of all the excess flour mixture and put them into a crockpot set to low. Throw away excess flour mixture. Pour over the broth and onion soup packet. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours.

15-30 minutes before serving pour noodles into the crockpot and cover. Cook until the noodles are tender.
