Dr Pepper BBQ Pulled Pork

Three ingredients to make a super yummy crockpot dinner. 3 that’s it. Shredded Dr. Pepper Pulled Pork.

Now I know I posted a recipe earlier this year for pull pork, BUT this one is super easy and only 3 ingredients. It also has a different flavor then my other one. This is made with pork loin, your favorite BBQ sauce and Dr. Pepper.

Now this was a large pork loin that we got from Costco. What makes it so nice is that I have a bunch of one-pound bags, 4 to be exact, in the freezer for dinners some other time.

So, I pour one and a half cups BBQ sauce in a mixing bowl. Then I add two and a half cups of Dr. Pepper. Stir together and pour over the pork loin in the crockpot. Cook on low all day long. Remove the pork once cooked and remove the fat cap. Then shred and return back to the pot.

Now I like the liquid that is mixed with my pork to be a little thicker. So, after I pull the meat from the crockpot I pour the liquid from the crockpot into a pot and simmer it while I am removing the fat cap and shredding the pork. Thickens the liquid nicely and then when I am done shredding, I pour only enough liquid back in to keep the meat moist.

Now this meat is yummy as a sandwich, or on nachos, or on top of french fries, or really any way you think it would be amazing. It is yummy and delicious. I highly you make this soon!

Dr Pepper BBQ Pulled Pork

5 Pound Pork Loin
1 ½ Cups BBQ Sauce
2 ½ Cups Dr Pepper

Pour pork loin in a crockpot set to low.

In a mixing bowl combine BBQ sauce and Dr Pepper. Pour over the pork loin and cook on low all day.

Once the pork is cooked through remove from the crockpot to a cutting board.

Pour the liquid from the crockpot into a pot and simmer while shredding the meat. Allow to thicken.

Remove the fat cap from the pork loin. Using two forks shred the pork loin into bite size pieces.

Put the shredded meat back into the crockpot and pour the thickened liquid over the top. Only add enough liquid to help the meat stay moist.
